First Baptist Church Valdosta has joined the Tim Tebow Foundation in celebrating people with special needs. Volunteer by completing the form below. Participant registration begins December 1st.
Night to shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s Love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older.
We rely on the help of many volunteers to make this event possible. Each honored guest requires a buddy. We also have teams for setup, respite room, hair/makeup, shoe shine, welcome team, and many others.
Yes! All volunteers are required to complete a background check and attend mandatory training in January at First Baptist Church Valdosta.
Each guest will be accompanied by a buddy throughout the evening, providing companionship and general assistance during the event. All buddies will have passed a background check and attended mandatory buddy training at First Baptist.
We encourage our guests to wear prom attire (dresses and suits). We do offer a dress/suit shop for our honored guest. You will receive more information about this when you register as a guest. Buddies may also want to dress in prom attire. Event t-shirts are available for purchase when you register as a volunteer.
Night to Shine is for you TOO!! The AMAZING caregivers and parents of our guests are invited to a special event on campus. We offer refreshments and a quiet environment for you to relax. You are not required to stay. Feel free to leave campus and come back to pick up your guest at 9:00pm.
We are so happy to be able to provide this event at NO COST to our honored guests!
We will provide food for our guests. Please let us know of any special dietary needs that your guest may have so that we can accommodate them.
